New Hope is a destination with earned name recognition and a of wealth experiences for tourists and locals alike, but the experience of being in town can be improved. All it takes is one walk down Main Street on a sunny day to see how our space for pedestrians is inadequate for the size of our crowds, particularly for those with strollers, wheelchairs, and walkers. Accessibility is my priority, with an emphasis on widening sidewalks, adding new ramps and crosswalks, and improving public access to the towpath. If we want people, locals and tourists alike, to feel that they can come, support our businesses, and fully experience all that New Hope has to offer, we have to make sure that we provide them with enough room to move throughout town.
It has been such a pleasure to call New Hope my home for the past five years. I feel as though my family and I reap the benefits of being residents in myriad ways daily. Now I would like to return the favor and give back to the town via public service. Having spent the majority of my professional life researching the area’s cultural history and its legacy, being able to put that focus to work by taking part in its future would be an extreme privilege. Additionally, I decided to run because I believe as a young resident, as a parent of a child who will enter the New Hope Solebury School District in a few years, and as someone who lives right in town, my perspective may be useful on and would add a new dimension to the Borough Council.
Before becoming a New Hope resident, I earned my BA in Art & Art History from Dickinson College and my MA in Art History for the Tyler School of Art at Temple University. Prior to freelancing, I interned at museums throughout the region and then worked at the James A. Michener Art Museum for 5 years. While at the Michener, I curated 16 exhibitions, authored 3 articles and 1 book. All of these projects explored the Delaware Valley’s rich cultural history, which has only been enhanced by living in New Hope and experiencing that legacy first hand. It is the combination of my education, work experience, and knowledge of the region and its cultural history that I believe makes me a prepared candidate for New Hope’s Borough Council.

As it is in many active downtowns is the need for parking. New Hope is no exception. It is a prominent issue in front of Council that is Continually being evaluated. This will be an ongoing project where all options will be considered.
My interest is to make a great place better.
After having served the majority of my 1st full term, and the experience I have had, I feel as though I can more confidently and accurately advocate on behalf of the New Hope Borough Resident.
