1. Building a new regional police headquarters with long-needed safety features, new Borough Hall, and new park, are the biggest upcoming projects that will require Council's attention and financing. I will continue to press for fiscal prudence as we move forward.
2. As a popular and growing tourist destination, Borough Council must consider many factors in making decisions that will affect residents, businesses, and visitors. I will continue to strive for the balance we need to maintain what is unique and special about Doylestown Borough.
3. Climate change is affecting the entire planet. Doylestown Borough must do its part to protect the environment for future generations and I will continue to lead efforts to reduce dependence on single-use plastics and to ensure effective recycling throughout the Borough, including at the many events that take place each year.
4. In a volatile world, I will work to maintain Doylestown as a safe, welcoming, caring and inclusive community.
It has been a privilege to serve Doylestown Borough as a member of Council for 6 years. Serving on Council is the best way I know to give back to our wonderful community. I have spent much of my life promoting environmental protection and advocating for the arts, and there are many opportunities to do this work as a member of Borough Council, as chair of Council's Environment & Recreation Committee and as an enthusiastic supporter of the County Theater expansion. I am running to continue to work for the benefit of all residents, for their safety and well-being, while maintaining the Borough’s desirability for businesses, events, cultural institutions, and visitors who contribute to the Borough’s vibrancy. I have particularly enjoyed serving my neighbors throughout Ward 1 and being the first Council member from the Maplewood neighborhood in decades, and I want to continue to provide the same high level of constituent service that they have come to expect.
In six years as a member of Borough Council, I have served on all Borough Council committees--Zoning and Planning, Water, Public Safety, Environment and Recreation, Public Works, Community and Governmental Affairs, Finance, and Personnel. I currently chair the Environment and Recreation Committee and previously chaired the Water Committee. I led the steering committee of representatives of Doylestown Borough commissions that planned the new park on Broad St. and participated in obtaining public feedback. I have worked closely with the Borough’s Environmental Advisory Commission on numerous initiatives, including reduction of plastic use. In addition, I have served on numerous nonprofit Boards, including the Bucks County Audubon Society and the County Theater. I was president of Bucks County Birders for 4 years. I have been a communications professional for my entire career, which has been very useful in my work as a public official.
