Traffic congestion and sprawling over-development due to a lack of comprehensive planning by our current Republican Council majority. We need to implement road and traffic signal improvements before new development is approved and use proactive zoning as a tool for smart growth. Bensalem's comprehensive plan for land use has not been updated since 2002.

Despite a large commercial tax base, $11 million in annual casino revenue, and now the largest earned income tax haul in the county, budgets are still running in the red while service is stagnant. Despite having considerably more revenue than any other municipality in Bucks County, the 2019 budget passed by the Republican Council carried a $16 million dollar deficit. Wasteful spending on perks, exorbitant salaries, and payoffs to political friends is going to cripple Bensalem's future. We need to institute reforms and bring transparency to our budget and bidding processes.

I will work to institute term limits in Bensalem
Bensalem has been my home for nearly thirty years. Now my wife and I our raising our three young children here. I am running to ensure that we have an efficient township government that can afford to keep parks open and provide open space to add to their quality of life and police on the streets to protect them. I am running because Bensalem is a diverse and vibrant community and I believe we deserve a township government that reflects that and enhances it. I am running because I believe our elected officials should represent the best interests of the community, not self-interests and those of the well connected. I am running because I believe what residents want for their neighborhoods should outweigh the desires of deep-pocketed developers. I want to work towards a transparent, efficient, proactive, and responsive township government. I am running to bring integrity back to council and give my kids a community we can be proud of for a long time.
I have served two previous terms on the Bensalem Council where I fought against over-development, sprawl, and traffic congestion. I was the lone vote against the Republican earned income tax and a fiscal watchdog for the township. I have 18 years of experience working on state, federal, and local issues on behalf of Bucks County residents in my role as a staff member with the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. I also belong to several different community organizations.

The over-development of Bensalem has led to traffic nightmares. We need to take a stand against developers that don't have our community's best interests in mind. We need to continue to work with PennDOT to find solutions to alleviate congestion. We need to focus on community based planning that puts our families first while protecting our seniors. The council needs to work with businesses to repurpose existing vacant buildings, and the budget needs to be transparent and fiscally responsible.
As a 4th generation resident of Bensalem, I want to be a voice for the community members I speak with on a daily basis. As an educator, I am a strong advocate for our children and understand the impact that past, present, and future decisions have on our youth. The daughter of retired Bensalem residents, I am sensitive to the needs of our senior citizens. Because I am a mother, I will work tirelessly to ensure the safety and financial security of the township. I am committed to ensuring that Bensalem continues to keep its unique identity.
I attended Valley Elementary, Snyder Middle School, and Bensalem High School. I attended LaSalle University on an athletic scholarship, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education with certifications to teach Special Education, Elementary Education, and English. Upon graduation, I returned to teach at my alma mater. I was inducted into Bensalem High School's Hall of Fame for diving, while I was coaching the Varsity Team. I took several athletes to represent Bensalem High School at the State Championships. While doing all that, I earned my Master's Degree in Education from Gratz College, and won a grant for my work in education from the Target Corporation. I am a 42 year resident of Bensalem and have been employed by the Bensalem School District for 20 years. More recently, I have been working as a member of my union's negotiations team to settle the teacher's contract. What I do not have is political experience. I will work to be a voice for EVERY member of our diverse community

An important concern of Council is the sale and development of the Armstrong school property and how it will affect the traffic on Street Road. Although the sale of this property is financially important to our school district we cannot allow this to be over developed. The traffic that will affect the surrounding residents is an important consideration that is why I put a motion on the floor to deny a zoning change for a proposed commercial development.
I have worked with Mayor DiGirolamo for 23 years as a councilman earning Bensalem the title of “Model for America”. Bensalem has continued to be a desirable community to live and raise your family. It is also a place where many businesses thrive. We have earned a Aaa2 financial rating and are financially stable with no tax increase being considered by council in the future. We have provided many services to our community including over 1300 acres of open space with passive and active recreation for all. Our senior center is one of the most active in all Bucks. We have provided$300.00 each year to every home owner in Bensalem through our “Home Owners Grant” and up to $150.00 more for qualified senior citizens. Public safety will continue to be a priority and Bensalem is the largest and best equipped police department in Bucks County. I would like to continue to provide these and many more services to the community that I love and that is why I am running for my 7th term as Co

My main objective is to enable Bensalem residents to continue enjoying a high quality of life in our community. That requires us to provide excellent service while controlling expenses. We have consistently managed our financial resources to avoid property tax increases and will continue to do so. This helps senior citizens to maintain and enjoy their homes and attracts new homeowners by increasing spendable income for families and loved ones. In addition, public safety is of the utmost importance. Fully supporting our professional, well-equipped police force is critical to continuing our fight against the drug crisis we face and controlling the crime that comes with it.
Being a member of Council is an opportunity to serve my community and ensure that Bensalem Township retains its standing as a great place to live, work and do business. My family has been in the township for more than 100 years, and, as a member of Council, I am proud to continue our long-standing tradition of service and support of Bensalem Township. The productive working relationship I have with the Mayor’s administration and my fellow Council members gets positive results for our community.
My interests and work experience have prepared me well for many of the issues we address as a Council. As a successful Realtor in Bensalem for more than 25 years, I have developed excellent communication skills. I have a degree in business, and earlier in my career I gained valuable experience in a corporate environment as a supervisor and corporate trainer. I belong to several charitable and service organizations and am active in my Church. I am a lifelong Bensalem resident who was raised in a large family and enjoy a broad network of contacts in the community. I have the background, experience and knowledge of our community to understand and address the concerns of our residents.
