Over the past ten years the population has grown by over 50% in our township. In addition, there are major commercial projects underway and planned in neighboring Dublin Borough and Hilltown Township. This has made traffic worse than ever in a township already made famous by NBC10 for having such poor roadways. There are no sidewalks, parks, or community based events to speak of. Currently there is little attention paid to the needs of residents in residing in the lower portion of the township. This is frustrating to many as these homeowners make large tax contributions based on the Open Space Tax Increase of 2008. This plan was meant to not only preserve land, but enhance the infrastructure of the township. Unfortunately very few enhancements have been made in the township.
I am running for office to get things done in our township. Growing up in Wayne County PA, and working on my families dairy farm has given me a deep respect for agriculture and land preservation. I applaud the work that has been done by my opponent on this front however very little other progress has been made in Bedminster. In fact, while many other municipalities have taken advantage of state grands to enhance walk ability, parks, and recreation, Bedminster has not. As a husband and also the father of a young daughter, I am concerned about what the next 30 years in our township will look like. The township would be well served having a young parent with a different perspective on the board.
As indicated in my experience, I have served on various boards over the past 15 years. I am a person who is not running for this office for partisan reasons, but to get things done for the residents of Bedminster. I am leader who can work well with others who may not always share my point of view. In addition, I am a person who can be counted on. I currently employ and lead a staff of over 75 amazing people in both Chalfont Borough and Lansdale Borough. In my business career I have a track record of tackling challenging situations, and I have a vision for the challenges facing Bedminster over the next six years.
Experience 12 years Bedminster Twsp Supervisor, 8 years Bedminster Twsp. Planning Commission, Chairman of the Ag. Security Advisory Committee.

To preserve open space our township started the Agricultural Security Area in 1990 after I submitted the first application with area farmers totaling 500 plus acres. This is the first step to enable farm owners to preserve their properties in perpetuity. The Township joined in with an additional Open Space Program in 1996. There are presently over 6,000 acres of preserved land in the township. There are also more issues with traffic and speeding since more people take the back roads to circumvent the Dublin and Plumsteadville traffic. The Twsp. has addressed the problems with speed tables in Pipersville, by instructing our police to increase more speeding violation warnings/tickets, and by engineer studies of problem areas to hopefully come up with road improvements. Most of the high density developments were approved before I was elected and I don't want to change existing zoning.
I live and work on my 40 acre farm which has been in my family since 1735 so I am personally intent on maintaining the rural scenic areas and the farm community. I also enjoy serving the citizens of the township. I have never increased taxes while in office.
I have 12 years experience as a supervisor and I have an expansive knowledge of the area. I was also a loan officer for 18 years which helps with financial knowledge. I believe in working with the other 2 supervisors in providing a responsive local government to the citizens.
