Quakertown Community School District School Director Region 1 (4 YR Term)

A school board is a legislative body of citizens called school directors, who are elected locally by their fellow citizens and who serve as the governing body of each public school district. Each board consists of nine members who serve four-year terms of office. Unlike most other elected officials, school directors receive no compensation for their work. Principal duties include appointing and/or dismissing superintendents, principals and teachers; levying school taxes; purchasing land; locating new buildings; adopting textbooks and courses of study; fixing salaries of teachers and other appointees of the Board.

Having been in education for so long, it is clear to me that most schools are failing to teach students basics about math, history, and geography. I am running for a third term because i have made little progress in educational improvement.

I am a parent, active member of my community, and involved in various volunteer and mentoring roles for the youth in our community. I am concerned with the large class size in some of the grades and shortage of support services needed for all our the children in our district to be successful. I intend to obtain qualified input from our teachers, administrators, public resources, and community members for decision made that affect the children as well as the community. I propose we be more fiscally responsible with spending with a transparent budget plan that fully discloses allocation including reallocation of funds.
My current and previous occupations have required me to be very detailed. I have created, implemented, and trained on policies and procedures. I am required to uphold myself in an ethical manner while following all government and regulatory requirements.
