Neshaminy School District School Director Region 2 (4 YR Term) {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

A school board is a legislative body of citizens called school directors, who are elected locally by their fellow citizens and who serve as the governing body of each public school district. Each board consists of nine members who serve four-year terms of office. Unlike most other elected officials, school directors receive no compensation for their work. Principal duties include appointing and/or dismissing superintendents, principals and teachers; levying school taxes; purchasing land; locating new buildings; adopting textbooks and courses of study; fixing salaries of teachers and other appointees of the Board.

There are elements within our government that would prefer that our children grow up ignorant, uninformed and incapable of critical thought and innovation. I call this "the stupidification of America". In the past few years, I have devoted myself and my career to fighting this dangerous trend.

As a member of Neshaminy School Board, I am alarmed at the lack of funding the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania supplies our children. I am also alarmed at the increasing role that the State Pension (PSERS) plays in our budget (we are currently at nearly 34% of our budget whereas it was only about 10-12% back in 2010).

This is forcing us to have to do more with less money for employees, programs, etc., and I am opposed to outsourcing as it takes jobs away from our local community and, therefore, erodes it.

At our meetings I have been urging residents to put pressure on their State Representatives and Senators to add educational professionals to the same Pension System used by State Workers.
I have served on Neshaminy School Board for the past 2 years, including time on the Board for Bucks County Technical High School, and serve on Neshaminy's STEAM Advisory Board.

I am in my first year as an Engineering Instructor for Mercer County Technical School's STEM Academy and earning my Permanent Teacher's Certification in Technical Education through NJ's Alternate Route Program at Brookdale Community College.

I have my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and am a natural problem solver.
