Neshaminy School District School Director Region 1 (4 YR Term) {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

A school board is a legislative body of citizens called school directors, who are elected locally by their fellow citizens and who serve as the governing body of each public school district. Each board consists of nine members who serve four-year terms of office. Unlike most other elected officials, school directors receive no compensation for their work. Principal duties include appointing and/or dismissing superintendents, principals and teachers; levying school taxes; purchasing land; locating new buildings; adopting textbooks and courses of study; fixing salaries of teachers and other appointees of the Board.

The issues facing the Neshaniny School District are that of any major company. We have 11 buildings, over 1000 employees, acres of facilities and fields. We are a transportation company, a food services company and most importantly responsible for the education of nearly 9000 students from out community. Our mission is to educate these children and allow them to enter society ready willing and able to be productive citizens with the ability to engage the work force. Everything we do has this mission in mind. The finances of our district and spending them wisely is paramount; while being mindful of the burden it places on our community members, this is of the utmost importance to me. Over the years I have been on the Board I believe we have made inroads in our management of both finances and our facilities to guarantee we maintain our mission, respect our taxpayers and make the six municipalities that make up Neshaminy a great place for families to live and grow.
I am a candidate for School Board, a position I proudly hold. Unlike many candidates, I have a proven track record. The School Board has maintained many years of ZERO SCHOOL TAX INCREASE, something that I have assisted with since October 2013. My plan is to grow education while protecting our taxpayers, especially our seniors. I, with Tina Hollenbach, are the endorsed candidates of the LSRC. My wife, Diana, and I moved into Lower South in 1994. My two children are Neshaminy ‘kids’. I have a vested interest in the success of Neshaminy. In 2012 NSD had a ranking of 246 out of 500 PA school districts. Now were in the top 100! I know that we can move significantly higher. Prior to being a director I have served on committees for the district. I have volunteered with the LSAA and also served on the LS Parks & Rec Board. I am a self-employed owner of an automotive repair business. My responsibilities have included every aspect of business management & operations.
