St. Hubert's Catholic High School for Girls
I had been attending School Board and various committee meetings every month for over fifteen years. At committee meetings my questions were always answered and I was always treated as one of the committee. However, it is the School Board that makes the final decision and I wanted to be part of that.
I have worked on the Budget Committee since 2005 so there would be someone from the public attending. Shortly after I started going to Curriculum meetings where we discussed curriculum, special education and policy. That led to Operations and Finance meetings every month. By the time I was appointed to the Board I had few questions that had to be answered immediately.

I believe that public education is the backbone of our society. As a public school teacher and longtime advocate of public education, I have seen and experienced the inequity in our schools across the state. For the past four years I have had the pleasure of ensuring access to the students of Bristol Township. We have initiated many STEM opportunities from elementary school through high school and continue to have an Arts program that has flourished despite state funding issues. I have two children in the district, one just starting out in kindergarten and the other about to start middle school and I cannot wait for him to gain access to the amazing programs we have to offer. My ultimate goal is to ensure our students have opportunities to follow their dreams and achieve their goals while also remaining mindful of the tax payer and the burden that falls on them as the state only funds about 36% of education costs.
As a teacher, although in a different district, I have a strong understanding of how policy impacts schools and the people in them. I am currently the only teacher running, or on the board, so I offer a unique perspective. I also have two children attending the schools which gives me an inside glance at what they are doing on a day to day basis. I am acutely aware of the impact state and federal laws and mandates have on our schools in PA. I make it a point to advocate to our legislators and the community on behalf of the issues that face us. I have been glad to see the slow restoration of state funds to education these past four years and hope that we continue to see them as I have lived through the drastic cuts, have experienced the cuts and general chaos they put schools through. I have always advocated for public education and will continue to do so, as I see this as our best path to equity and full funding from the state and federal governments.

As a father of two children, one in elementary school and one entering next year, I have a strong interest in my children's education.
It really is as simple as that. I want to make sure that our tax dollars are being allocated in the most efficient way to guarantee our students receive the best possible education.
I pride myself in my accomplishments and would have never achieved what I have without a solid education. I would love the opportunity to bring my management skills from my career into the school system. As a resident of the township that is very involved in the community I want to share in the success of what I believe is a school system that offers an amazing array of choices for the student body.
