I am a former public school teacher, an experienced attorney, and a public servant. I have extensive legal experience before our courts and administrative tribunals in private practice and as an elected official. I am now a partner at a Las Vegas law firm and Majority Leader in the Nevada State Senate where I passed laws to protect our families on the internet, to combat elder abuse, to make targeting law enforcement and first responders essentially a hate crime and to require that financial advisers look out for your money first and not just their bottom line. I’ve also taken on big drug companies to pass the strongest pharmaceutical transparency bill in the nation and passed legislation to reduce and ultimately end the rape kits backlog.
Growing up,I often didn’t know if the water, gas or electricity would turn on the next day. However, thanks to hard work and family support,I ended up earning five college degrees and became an attorney focusing on consumer protection. I know what it’s like to grow up in a neighborhood that isn’t safe, so that’s why I’ll go after those who seek to harm Nevada families. At every stage of someone’s life, Nevadans deserve to feel protected.I want to keep our kids and neighborhoods safe.I will protect college students from unscrupulous debt collectors and keep them safe on campus.I will combat workplace sexual harassment, and I will protect our seniors from scammers and elder abuse. I will be an Attorney General who always puts our families first
A top priority for me will be keeping Nevadans safe at home, at work or out in their communities. I will combat workplace sexual harassment, enforce the voter-approved background checks on gun sales to prevent criminals from getting guns. Make our state safer by being both tough and smart on crime by going after violent criminals, supporting victims of crime, reducing recidivism through diversion courts and re-entry programs.I will also work on improving Nevada’s mental health and substance abuse programs, as well as crack down on prescription drug companies who profit off of dangerous addictions.

Here’s the bottom line: There is no criminal too ruthless and no corporation too powerful that I won’t take on if they are hurting Nevadans.
