Professional Experience I have worked in a JP court for several years, and have attended training every year and obtained educational hours. I am a master certified clerk through the Texas Justice Court Training center for which I am very proficient in both the civil and criminal department within the JP court. I have knowledge of office management principles and practices, knowledge of supervisory principles, practices and techniques. Skilled in both verbal and written communication. Analyzing and planning abilities, developing budgets, strong administrative skills, effective multi-tasking abilities, computer software and hardware using abilities, prioritizing and organizing the workflow. Knowledge in accounts and book keeping. I also have experience in legal research and knowledge of the Texas Constitution and Statutes. Experience in drafting legal documents. Professional experience in case flow management.
Community Involvement I am a mother of three children and work full-time. My spouse travels for work frequently. Between work and raising three children, unfortunately I do not have any community involvement. I would like to say that I am a hard working citizen and I am raising three wonderful children that one day become contributing citizen to the community.
Yes, I do believe there should be more transparency of services within the JP court. I would make sure that my court staff is available to assist constituents within the law and refer individuals to community services within the county if needed. Records filed with the court are saved in electronic format and the public should have access to their contents with in the law.
If elected to office my top priorities would include: Accessibility to the court, reasonable scheduling to court cases, clerk training and certification, case flow management and reducing a backlog of court cases.
