Presiding officer of the Commissioners Court. Represents the county in many administrative functions. Serves as budget officer in counties with fewer than 225,000 residents. Most have broad judicial duties, such as presiding over misdemeanor criminal and small civil cases, probate matters and appeals from the Justice of the Peace Court. Serves as head of emergency management.

Infrastructure Taxes pay for county operations, roadways, public health and safety. Quality of life and safety are more significant than surplus. My priorities, I will address infrastructure issues staying proactive, not reactive. Bandera County is above the recommended reserve funds because of this. Funds must be used to address this.
Water Quality and SupplyWater over the next decade will be the most challenging issue facing Texas, it is imperative that we manage resources above all else, as we are reliant on well water. I will continue work with the Water Development Board and insure Bandera preserves this resource in the ///
Health and Human Service concernsWe have to address escalating drug abuse in the county, effecting youth and adults alike, and protect Social services by providing support to the current programs needing funding. Orderly GrowthPreparation, planning and skilled resource allocation is the key to controlling growth, I wish to be ahead of the growth curve and not reactive to it. Maintaining the quality of life which makes Bandera great, requires this expertise.
