I have been practicing law for 20 years. I have prosecuted and defended cases in our Justice of the Peace Courts for over 18 years. I know and have a good working relationship with the Lubbock Judges and District Attorney’s. My passion is to help violators learn from their mistakes with respect and fairness.
The Justice of the Peace courts are considered the “people’s court” because most accused are not represented by an attorney. It is extremely important to have impartial judges at this level understand the law well enough to simply explain it. Justice Courts handle Class C misdemeanor criminal violations and traffic violations punishable by fine only, landlord and tenant disputes, Small claim disputes under $10,000 and Truancy cases.
