After being very involved previously in Denton county, I began to get involved this past year with Dallas County Democratic Party and a couple of the local Democratic clubs including Stonewall Democrats and The FEDD. I have block walked, attended meetings, and joined with a couple of other individuals to begin organizing my neighborhood with is made up 2 precincts. We are hosting our first happy hour and are planning on block walking using data from VAN.
To increase voter participation in my precinct/ neighborhood.
My current plan is to identify potential voters using the VAN database and then reach out to them the through block walking and post card mailers. We are also planning monthly community socials for our neighborhood.
My precinct is viewed by many as transient by many, including the county party. I respectfully disagree with this assessment. On first glance people may assume our precinct is full of apartments. There are a few but the vast majority are condos that are occupied by owners. I have lived in my current home for 10 years and have many of the same neighborhors that were there when I moved in. The area is ripe for a solid GOTV campaign!
