Education The University of Texas School of Law, Austin, Texas, J.D. 2002 University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, B.A. 1999
I am a former U.S. Army JAG officer and Assistant Attorney General. I currently serve as a prosecutor, am Board Certified in criminal law, and have tried over 30 felonies to verdict in Travis, Comal and Bell Counties from sexual assault to murder.
The accessibility and availability of new scientific testing, including not only DNA, but cell phone and computer forensics, has improved the indigent defense system by allowing litigants another opportunity to correct an unjust trial result through a post-conviction writ, including, in many cases, funding for this new testing.
My highest priority is the quick and timely handling of appeals based on a full review of the record and arguments. To accomplish this, it is paramount to have experienced criminal and civil attorneys on the bench since the docket of the Third Court of Appeal is equally divided between criminal and civil law. I would bring this much-needed experience to the bench.
