My career as a sales manager in the computer and command & control introduced me to many utility, transportation and military installations. Dave understands problem solving and collaboration to achieve best results for all involved. I currently is a board member of a neighborhood sewer district and home owners association. I have the business experience to help Whitworth Water run at its best. I have skills in strategic planning, problem solving, negotiating and collaboration. After having recently retired, I now have the time, interest and ability to actively participate in Whitworth Water's success.
1. Managing water availability and water rights in the District. 2. Managing the District's largest expenses: personnel and electricity. 3. Growth planning.
The most urgent is managing water availability and water rights. The Hirst decision has caused rapid development in parts of Whitworth Water’s service area just prior to its effective date last year. It appears that some of these developments will not have adequate water resources for both the existing land owners as well as their new neighbors. A water shortage in the area will put pressure on the District to provide this service. Additional water rights are available, but at a premium. The challenge will be to serve our neighbors without escalating costs to all members.
My entire career was based around providing excellent support for my clients, including Whitworth Water District, from initial design consultation through final approval and acceptance. As a 39 year resident in the Whitworth Water service area, I’m committed to providing great support for Whitworth’s customers as well. As a 26 year active volunteer with Spokane County Fire District 4, I can be a good liaison between the two entities to insure a strong relationship with a vital water user.
Encourage water conservation in the area to lessen future growth demands.
