Experience (300 characters max) I have served or am serving as a member or officer on governing boards with topics related to Disaster Response, civic service, housing, literacy, health care and church related.
Experience and continuity are important in this type of a position. It takes some time to become familiar with the requirements and the policies that govern this junior taxing district board.. I have served several terms and am now familiar with the opportunities present for the District. I would like to continue to pursue additional improvements to the park and pool similar to those that have been made recently. These have been accomplished by the combined efforts of the staff, board members, volunteers, patrons and voters.
1. Funding ,both public and private. 2.Grounds and facilities improvements 3.Staffing
It is hard to separate these issues since they are mixed together. I feel that public funding in the form of passage of the annual levy and private funding in the form of donations and grants are the lifeblood of the Prescott Joint Park and Recreation District. I would consider adequate funding the most important or most urgent.
I have served as a commissioner and an officer on the board for several terms. I have supported the passage of the annual maintenance and operations levy with my ballot and encouraged others to do so. During my term of service on the board I have initiated and been supportive of seeking out grants and donations to meet the needs of the district and to better serve our patrons. I do not take credit for the success of both initiatives since the voters, the hard working staff and volunteers and patrons have been responsible for those achievements. It would be my job to support them as we work together to better serve the swimming and recreational needs of our community.
