Experience (300 characters max) I am currently serving as a Forks City Councilman and have decades of leadership and management experience. I also have experience in managing multi-million dollar budgets and large organizations like the City of Forks.
The Forks City Council voted on a pay raise for the Forks Police Department in 2016. I asked how we would pay for it and the answer I got was that “we will figure that out at the end of the year”. At the end of the year, the Forks Police Department and the General Fund were over budget and the City of Forks ended up having to take money out of the General Fund Reserve to balance the books in 2016.
1. Rebuilding the Police Department and reducing crime in our community. 2. Fixing and upgrading the city utility infrastructure. 3. Bring new businesses to the Forks Community.
Rebuilding the Police Department and combatting crime in our community.
Senior Citizens are a vital part of our community with unique needs and they provide tremendous support to numerous volunteer organizations in our community. My commitment as Mayor will be to ensure that Senior services are available and expanded as necessary. City coordination with local organizations, Clallam Transit, and the Peninsula Housing Authority are vital to the successful support of Seniors in our community. Ensuring Senior have continued access to affordable housing should be a priority.
The city should welcome legal immigrants into our community. Legal immigration is the backbone of success of our country. The City has no role in enforcing illegal immigration laws.
We need to fix and upgrade the existing water and sewer systems. We need to establish a future Plan of Infrastructure Improvements tied to a Fiscal Support Plan that enables upgrades at the prescribed times when the system is due for upgrades or expansions.
The local support organizations are responding incredibly well to people with non-addiction and mental health issues. The real issue is with the mentally ill and drug addicted individuals who need state funded, supervised, and operated "Halfway Houses" to monitor, counsel and treat these individuals so that they are not on the streets, but receiving direct supervised assistance with addiction issues and mental health treatment so they can obtain jobs and attain self sufficiency in the community.
