Maintaining , operating and improving our existing transportation infrastructure of the city . Updating our schools and keeping our city fire department and EMS up to pare and well maned.
The poor will always be with us .We need to be compassionate and steadfast in helping and relocating these people that are down and out . Clarkston has a lot of Churches and a nearby Salvation Army that are instrumental at helping these unfortunates . At this point Clarkston is not over whelmed with this particular problem .
Our Seniors are very precious to us . My commitment to them is keep property taxes for them at a very minimum . and to keep entities like Meal's on Wheel's rolling . We have great volunteer's in Clarkston that accomplish this .
Clarkston at this point doesn't have a problem with legal or illegal immigration issues . but if they are illegal I think we should follow Federal guidelines as how to handle this. I believe to keep our country safe and financially solvent we have to have borders and immigration laws that are strictly enforced .

Drugs are a big problem in Clarkston as they are in countless other cities . Although we have a great DARE program here that is instrumental at educating our youth . If elected to the city council I would be 100% in favor of keeping this funding going . And backing our Police Department with all of the tools to discourage this type of activity .
I would say the illegal drug problem as it effects not only the user but also families, increased crime and ultimately the whole well being of the city .
I would develop a personable relationship, respecting the position of the Mayor . I would be fact based and straight forward . I would be hard working and a team player knowing that the captain is the captain even though our ideas could defer . I think respect is a key word .

Experience (300 characters max) High school graduate, 2 years service in the US Army, graduate Military Police Academy. Stationed DMZ Korea. 4 years college criminal justice and numerous State certifications in police investigations. Major crimes Detective with Ft. Lauderdale Police Department.
To continue the upkeep and maintenance of our city streets and to make sure that the necessary improvements are made to continue keeping our citizens safe.
Work closer with agencies in our area that provide care and assistance to the homeless. Form a committee comprised of business, religious and regular citizens to address this problem and to come up with ideas to help the homeless. Educating the public on how they can help without promoting panhandling.
My commitment to our senior citizens is to continue to support the services that are so vital to our senior citizens. Fire and Ambulance and E.M.S. services are extremely important to our senior citizens and that's why my support for our local fire and E.M.S. services has been unwavering.
The issue of legal and illegal immigration is a federal issue and is not under the jurisdiction of our city government.
Growth, in particular, business growth. If we want to continue to keep our services, (Police, Fire, E.M.S. etc) we need to expand our tax base. If I am elected, I will tireless make every effort to to encourage businesses to consider Clarkston as a venue for business. Education, investment in education goes hand and hand with business growth and that's why I support "Yes for Clarkston".
Growth, without business growth the future of our city services are in the balance.
To be a good listener and to be respectful.
