Mayor Anderson Fernanders’ research concludes that if it is done under costs of approximately $85,000,000 in bonds and KWA's annual administrative expenses and operating costs, 1) water rates will go through the roof, 2) Flint loses its State Revenue Sharing which is approximately 36.1% of Flint’s total budget, 3) low income residents become fully dependant on water assistance programs which will not last always, and 4) Flint sharply becomes bankrupt.
1) work on getting City of Flint out of being obligated to pay approximately $85,000,000 in bonds issued to fund the KWA pipeline, and having to pay a share of KWA's annual administrative expenses and operating costs, and get back the assets sold while under Emergency management; 2) work on the development of downtown Flint and give support to existing homeowners in making their homes energy efficient, to replace fixtures, faucets, water heaters, in-home plumbing/water lines, and to maintain structural/functional integrity; 3) work on getting free health coverage for all residents; 4) work on lowering watering water bills, property tax liability, home/auto insurance; 5) work on expunging Felony conviction of non violent and non sex offender
Mayor Anderson Fernanders will be in a position to use his gifts and talents to take care that the laws be enforced equally without respect of who she or he is in terms of their social or economic status, to maintain a form of governance which is by the people and for the people, for the outcast and by the outcast, and to guard against repeating the mistakes where industries gain enormous profits without the City growing in modernization and new industrial growth sectors, as well as, against those which led to the our man made water crisis.

The single most effective answer I have is Municipal Declaration of Bankruptcy. It is an expedited process (i.e. Detroit) that once admitted and proceeded with yields actual dividends. I was present spring of 2010 when the Chicago Region 5 Office of the Environmental Energy Agency held a public meeting at Mott Community College and city officials personnelly admitted they did not available funds then or in the coming years. The only answer they implimented was more taxation from the poorest citizens.
Infrastructure, refuse, and our own community policing. Basic city services. The common theme every Flint resident has expressed is having our own police issue simple violations on perpatrators; which is the first step in prevention and revenues.
Leadership, and to recognize it in others and let them. I also live debt free and value local parks and resources.

Campaign Message Working Together
The most immediate four problems facing Flint are:

• Dealing with our problems related to water 1. We must have safe water to drink 2. Water rates need to be affordable 2. We need to speed up replacing lead water lines .

• Public safety 1. Address the 60+ minute 911 response times 2. Make public safety and neighborhood patrols a priority 3. End the practice of officers driving the mayor

• Restoring faith in city government 1. Ending cronyism in city government 2. Zero tolerance standard for dealing with corrupt companies like Rizzo 3. Requiring that mayoral appointees live in Flint

• Jobs 1. Provide support for job creators in ALL parts of Flint 2. Work with businesses that will focus on hiring Flint residents 3. Appoint an economic development director
Addressing the broad issues outlined above are my top goals for my tenure. Specifically, I want to work with city council and neighborhood leaders to get more police on the streets by ending the practice of having the police drive the mayor, end the city's lawsuit against the potential $1000 refund per resident for the illegal water rate increases under the EM, and restore the public's trust in city government by holding everyone to the highest ethical standard.
With all of our challenges, I still believe in Flint. It’s why my wife and I still live in the same neighborhood where I grew up in in the same house bought over 45 years ago. It’s why I raised my family here. It’s why I’ve served as a city councilman and why I want to be Flint’s next mayor.

I know that by working together with city council and neighborhood leaders we can overcome the challenges we face. Working together we can reduce violent crime and 911 response times, solve our water crisis, and restore people’s faith in government.

Campaign Message I am honest, smart, not corrupt, and not ego driven.
Poverty and corruption. All our issues are directly linked to those. We have been named "the poorest city in America". Two-thirds of residents are at (or below) the poverty line. "Helping our poor" has become lucrative, creating a non-profit industry for Foundations and investors. Many of these agency's employees collect paychecks in Flint, then retreat back to the suburbs, not contributing to the stability of our community. Many opportunists are using the water crisis for personal gain. Yes, non-profits ARE a great bandage in a crisis, but they are NOT a long term solution. Home ownership promotes community buy-in and involvement. As residents, we have ALL been pushed to the edge, but among two-thirds of us, poverty creates, feeds, and sustains, desperation and fear.
First, Gov Snyder needs to make Flint WHOLE again; replace the pipes, remove emergency control, and correct our revenue sharing. Second, water affordability vs assistance. We need a solution that creates long term affordability, AND self-reliance; not a short term stop gap, or a 30 year contract that leaves us exactly where we are today. Third, blight. Flint's blight is largely controlled by the Land Bank. This means, THE CALL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE! I like the idea of a large scale "Works Program", employing residents to reclaim resources from these abandoned structures. This could create jobs, AND revenue from marketing the reclaimed resources. Removing blight stops outside investors from speculation, AND makes neighborhoods safer.
I am not corrupt, nor am I ego driven. My family's income is below the poverty line. We know firsthand, the struggles of living on assistance. Like a majority of Flint, we live month to month, with food, shelter and job insecurity. I am a listener, who considers decisions carefully because a wrong choice can have lasting, insurmountable consequences to our personal success, safety, and security. Additionally, my education and customer service background enables me to effectively communicate with janitors,CEOs, and everyone in between. As the mayor, I would represent ALL of the residents, regardless of race, color, religious creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, age, genetic information, military service, or disability, and I take that very seriously.

Campaign Message The resident's need to not only be heard but action to meet their needs taken A.S.A.P. Police need to be held accountable and funded, more one on one with the people, and response times improved. The water disaster needs more than a fast start, it needs professional's to finish in a timely manner.
The most pressing is the lack of residential input on issues pertaining to the well being of the City of Flint. Police response time and lack of officers and proper equipment or follow through, not enough detectives. The handling from the State and City on the whole water issue-from health care to clean, affordable water to housing. The blatant takeover of our City Assets.
The first goal will be to fill all administration positions with quality staff and make accountability towards the residents #1, to get the state out of our business. To create coverage for all things lost due to this disaster from Medical for all ages, and tax relief for homeowners and businesses.
I am a Lifelong resident in the City of Flint. My family and I have lived through all of The Good; The Bad and The Ugly of Flint 56yrs. We have been in every neighborhood in the past cleaning. Although it's been a while it needs someone in the know to revamp it. There needs to be more one on one with the residents. The professional attributes comes from my years at the Fling Journal , for one had to adjust to situations on the fly under stress; and to also have the right people on the job to complete it in a timely manner. The know how to train and change in different situations. If it's broke, Fix it. The leadership is only as good as the people they lead. Accountability is a MUST. Trust and follow through from all levels of Flint. Let this City's Resident's have a voice.

Campaign Message It is written In the Bible to pay tithes and offerings for this is seed money he will make it grow 100 fold. When you plant a garden you plant seeds and wait for it to grow. It will multiply itself over time. By doing this the curse on this city will be removed and His blessings will come abundantly. It is written in the Bible "it does not matter if you steal from man or from God, he says you are a thief and as a thief you are under his curse. Our city officials have been stealing from God that is why this city's population is shrinking and businesses are also leaving. Combine together with their greed they are slowly turning this city into a ghost town. You can not out give God for He owns the finances of the entire Universe, it all belongs to Him even we belong to Him, we serve His purpose not ours.
To get this city into a prosperous state as it was once before. That will encourage businesses to make this city their home town and lower unemployment rate in this city, for our God will cause them to come here.

9. Current water line replacements will continue 10. All basements of houses that have burned down will be busted up, hauled off and filled in with dirt and seeded. 11. Stop theft of water funds being used for other sources. 12. property taxes will be reviewed and if possible lowered.
1. Reduce the rate of $100.00 per household + usage to $30.00 per household + usage for everyone no exception. 2. Leave the cable contract open so any cable company to solicit city residents for their services. This will create competition thereby creating lower prices and better service. 3. Potholes will be filled in with asphalt and flattened with a roller to avoid waste of material. 4. Sidewalks will be maintained at city's expense. 5. Trees will be trimmed 15 feet above the streets and 10 feet above the sidewalks, also shrubs will be trimmed back from sidewalks. 6. Weeds (grass will be kept up near streets to avoid blind spots while driving. 7. Infrastructure will be maintained. 8. Dead trees will be removed on city prop
