A 3rd generation GP City resident, attended South High, Western Michigan University, and returned to GP to run the family business. Married to Jennifer Palms Boettcher, 4th generation Pointer, for 28 years. Together raising 5 boys aged 17 to 26 all of whom attended South High School and 3 have finished college to begin careers in Detroit, one is preparing for the 4th generation of the family business. My 8 year tenure on the Council and career in manufacturing for the construction industry has prepared me to be a very effective leader with bottom line fiscal responsibility.
Good planning is paramount. I pledge to create a finance committee that includes residents to assist in the annual review of our budget. The most important service the city provides is safety. I will insure we have the best equipment and well trained staff. Water, sewer, and roads are critical to maintain property values. I will see these projects through with an emphasis on quick completion. It is imperative bond funds are spent wisely for long term needs of the City. I am committed to strong fiscal responsibility. A beautiful and safe place to live is GP City. I pledge to keep taxes in check with the true needs of the community.

Dale and his wife, Mary, have lived in the City since 1973. They have two grown sons. As a development consultant he has brought knowledge and skills to the City. He has led efforts for the development of projects in the Village and on the Beaumont Hospital campus. Under his tenure, major capital improvements have been made to the water system, Neff Park, streetscapes in The Village and on Mack. He currently is working on projects for the Fisher Road streetscape, Farms Market expansion, Public Safety/Works facilities and Saros Real Estate building. Under his watch, the City has increased its Fund Balance to 25% and secured AAA Bond rating.
If re-elected as Mayor, Dale will work to: • Maintain the high standards of fiscal responsibility that have resulted in a AAA Bond rating, including maintaining a 25% Fund Balance and keeping control of expenses. • Continue to inform the public with open and transparent decision-making. • Continue to collaborate with other communities by exploring effective sharing of services as we have done with Grosse Pointe Park on Police Dispatch and sharing a Chief of Police. • Continue to work toward an agreement with all parties on The Village hotel project. • Implement the Public Safety/Works project in a responsible and cost-effective manner.
