Experience I don't have any experience in politics. However, I have worked for many years in the workforce as an administrative assistant and for the last twelve years as a supervisor for one of the top performing collection agencies in the country. I have to make sure our department processes payments properly and all job tasks are done accurately and in a timely manner.
The most important issues are growth in the area and unfortunately the heroin crisis. I feel we need to work with Outreach programs and see if there is any programs to where the people could get help, like if they could come to our community so the people who don't have transportation could attend any meetings.
I believe this a positive idea if the EMS and Fire Dept. shared equipment. It could benefit the township/village because it would save money.
I believe the township should work with an Outreach program and set up a meeting place and that people could come to and ask for counseling and if any help they could get.

While there are many important issues to be addressed in Franklin Township, I feel that the one most affecting my community and surrounding communities, is the drug use. While those that have become addicted to the drug epidemic, this expands and affects much more than the individual themselves. This affects the family units in our community, affects our children, drives crime levels up and places financial and personnel stress on our emergency services. It is important to recognize, that the Police, Fire and EMS personnel, some who are volunteer are putting themselves in danger when responding to drug related calls. Often, EMS services are being over-utilized due to the drug related calls, which often can eliminate services needed for other citizens.
It is my opinion, that shared services and shared equipment, provides cost savings to all parties involved, including the community and taxpayers. The benefits of taking a community approach to emergency services, is that it fosters relationships between the community and the community leaders, builds and maintains partnerships and fosters recognition of needs within the community.
As a trustee, I would want to explore the availability and pursue any available block grants that would assist Franklin Township in addressing the substance abuse, as well as mental health issues affecting our community. I feel it is of great importance that all elected trustees, recognize the devastation that the drug epidemic is having on our community, but not only recognize it, we need to work collaboratively to address and eliminate it! I personally feel that the community would greatly benefit by having a township law enforcement officer, which would help cut the supply of drugs coming into the township and protect the citizens of our community. It would be my hope that we could obtain more localized and accessible, support for prevention, intervention and treatment. In the end, Prevention is more desirable than Treatment! It is my desire, to serve as trustee and work with others for the betterment of our community.
