What factors would you consider in granting a waiver and why?

The neighborhood and it's zoning. The individual property's hardship. The opinion of the nearby neighbors. The effect on the town of Fairfield.
Candidate has not yet responded.
I will evaluate the application to be sure that the hardship is tied to the unique aspects of the property, as required by the zoning regulations, and not only the personal needs of the applicant. There are legal precedents that define hardship. There are also more nuanced reasons to grant or deny. I will look at the project from the viewpoint of the applicant, as well as from the perspective of the neighbors, the neighborhood, and the community.
