The lack of funding for services such as health centers, family services, youth & educational programs and affordable child care subsides are very important to my community and county. Our infrastructure is decaying and the protection our environment is treated as low priority. The sewage treatment plant odor mitigation project in southwest Yonkers has been unsuccessful and must be addressed immediately. The high rate of violent crimes in the area are primarily due to the lack services and programs for youth. Reinstate support and legal services for immigrant families. I fully support DACA and the Westchester County Immigration Bill. I am a strong supporter of our unions, Paid Sick Leave Bill and the Prevailing Wage. We should not sell or privatize our assets such as the airport in order to "balance the budget." I believe in fiscal responsibility, pay as you go and pay your fair share. We must preserve our environment and protect it from fracking.

I believe in fiscal responsibility by using the Pay as you Go approach. We must stop balancing the budget on the presumption of revenues from leasing or selling off our assets such as the Westchester County Airport and Rye Playland. I am not in favor of these gimmicks that use our finances like a credit card. I believe in redirecting millions of dollars that are being spent on unnecessary projects and legal fees and instead, invest in services that will improve the quality of life of our communities.

I believe in Pay your fair share. Big businesses and the wealthy must pay their fair share in taxes so that our county can provide vital services and rebuild our infrastructure. The increase in the sales tax has proven not to be as lucrative as projected and we need to balance our budget with taxing everyone in the county fairly; no tax breaks for the elite.
