Biographical Information

New Jersey has some of the highest property taxes in the nation. What, if anything, do you propose to lower property taxes?

New Jersey's state pension system has recently been named the worst-funded state retirement plan in the country and is arguably one of our largest financial problems. How do you propose to address our state's pension issues?

How can New Jersey meet our energy needs while protecting our environment? For example, would you support energy conservation, expansion of renewable energy projects, hydraulic fracturing, and pipelines, etc?

What would you do to promote job growth in our state?

Please indicate three additional state priority issues for you (not already listed in this questionnaire) and explain how you would address them.

To see an increase in shared services and a reduction in local mandates. I am the prime sponsor of A-4919, limits certain unused sick leave pay and vacation leave carry forward for public officers and employees. I am the prime sponsor of A-1293, legislation that permits the consolidation of all fire districts in a municipality and sets forth a procedure for consolidation.
I voted in favor of the bill that requires the state to pay it's pension contributions on a quarterly basis. I feel both parties need to resume negotiations and come up with a long-term reform plan.
I support renewable energy projects-conservation, wind farms, etc...not fracturing.
Continue to propose tax reductions that would make New Jersey more competitive with other states and enhance our economy.
Education Reform - Prime Sponsor of ACR-197, proposes a Constitutional Amendment to provide State aid to school districts be allocated on a equal per pupil basis.

Curbing Opiate Abuse - I am a sponsor of several bills on this issue, including A-2430 and A-3803.

Affordable Healthcare - I support several Republican bills on this issue.
