New Jersey has some of the highest property taxes in the nation. What, if anything, do you propose to lower property taxes?

New Jersey's state pension system has recently been named the worst-funded state retirement plan in the country and is arguably one of our largest financial problems. How do you propose to address our state's pension issues?

How can New Jersey meet our energy needs while protecting our environment? For example, would you support energy conservation, expansion of renewable energy projects, hydraulic fracturing, and pipelines, etc?

What would you do to promote job growth in our state?

Please indicate three additional state priority issues for you (not already listed in this questionnaire) and explain how you would address them.

Qualifications/Experience I am hard working and honest. My experience is lifetime in NJ. I have raised 3 children and dealt with the burdens of that in the state of NJ. I am not a politician,I am average guy who wants to help.
We first need to address the backwards system and how we penalize the home owner for making their home and property nicer. I believe we need to a flat property tax base on size of property and not condition. I would like to see reductions across the state on property tax so to encourage people to buy homes and stay here. Pennsville,NJ has very high property tax and has resulted in the exit of many home owners. I believe there is waste and corruption in NJ and we need to address that also. I would call for a complete audit of the budget and where our money is going and for what. We need to set priorities and how we allocate funds across the state. I am not an expert on taxes but I believe if you lower property tax you would bring more people and companies and would increase tax revenue.
I believe NJ should honor any agreement they have made when it comes to pensions and need to find the funds to correct the failures of the past. We need to find out why and where the funds that were suppose to be going toward the pension have went. Again this would be an area that needs to be audit and corrected. I believe if we can reduce the size and waste of government we can find the funds short fall. If there has been criminal activity taken place I would seek to have those guilty charged and jailed.
I believe we need to continue with a policy that encourages clean energy while still allowing the use of fossil fuels. We should not place all our"eggs" so to speak in one basket. When there is competition in products there is always better cost value. When you place everything one one company or product the cost will always go up and lose any advantage to having it.
I believe taxes are the biggest problem in this state. When we have highest taxes across the board. Property, income and state sales tax continues to rise. We currently have the democratic nominee proposing a 1.3 billion dollar tax increase should he be elected. I feel this will only chase more home owners and businesses out of a state that has already seen a mass exit.
I would like to see the school aid corrected. I would also have an audit take place into the funding and see where the waste is. Explain why some areas cost so much while others can educate for far less. Do away with big salaries in the board of education that were political rewards. I would seek to bring a state health plan base on Dr Josh Umbehr's concierge plan out of Kansas. Stop waiting for federal government to fix things in our state. I believe the federal government only does one thing well , spend our money. I also am a strong supporter of the constitution and believe we need to do away with civil forfeiture act without actually being convicted of a crime. I would also like to see open/conceal carry become law in NJ. I support back ground checks.
